

In 1909, Michio Suzuki (1887–1982) founded the Suzuki Loom Works in the small seacoast village of Hamamatsu, Japan. However, due to the increased price the Vitara EPI sold poorly in the market and later become a collectible car due to its rarity. In 1995, Vitara received a fuel-injection system and was marketed as the Vitara EPI (Electronic Petrol Injection).
